I have to say I cannot remember anything quite like 2020. I think this year has left us all a little breathless, bewildered and feeling vulnerable, like we never have before.

What has really given me heart is seeing how people have come together and worked on solutions together. The sense of unity and will to overcome obstacles through collaboration have been exceptional and I hope that we carry that spirit to 2021 and beyond.

At P3 we have mirrored the world around us on a smaller scale. Our team has pulled together and there’s a clear sense of a common goal that we are marching towards. We have really focused on who we are and what is our place in the world.

We have welcomed several key hires into the team both in Finland and abroad, opened two new markets, UK and Israel, and strengthened our footprint in our old geographies.

Following our success in last year’s Worldline Challenge in Frankfurt, where P3 won two challenge categories and the Grand Prix of the event, we sealed a partnership with Worldline that will give us exceptional depth and reach in the European markets.

Our banking and insuretech verticals got a major boost when two new customers signed 10-year contracts for P3’s PSaaS (Payment System as a Service) platform. We are humbled by the trust shown by these valued customers and are fully committed on turning them into forces to be reckoned with in their market segments.

We have been busy in other sectors too. Another source of pride is an LOI we have signed with a large telco, a market leader in its home geography. I take this as proof that customers see the value of our concept and are ready to take the digital leap with us.

But what has really made my year has been the launch of a payment ecosystem in Karachi, Pakistan, built on top of P3’s platform. It enables and promotes some of the key values we hold dear in P3: transparency, traceability and financial inclusion.

I have to thank all P3 people around the world, because none of this would have been possible without their hard work and commitment. Thank you also to our partners and collaborators for believing in us. And most of all, thank you to our customers, your trust humbles us.

As the new year is just around the corner, I’m left with this thought: If this is what we did in the COVID-19 disrupted 2020, imagine what we’ll do in 2021. Personally, I can’t wait.
